Engraving Styling Before and After

Engraving Styling

We’ve been requested to make emblems and other various engravings shape-carved, beveled, or textured in certain ways that create detail beyond the normal engraving technique. If the family has a certain engraving idea in mind, let us know and we will make it happen!

Shape Carving

Expanding upon our various engraving styles, we are skilled in shape carving technique and can add a three dimensional carve to emblems, epitaphs, or border designs. If your clients are interested in getting a shape carving, please talk to us about how we can elevate our standard engravings!

Custom Engraving Before and After

Custom Engravings

Is there an emblem or epitaph that your customers want on their loved one’s memorial? Texas Gravestone Care will take the time to cut a stencil and sandblast custom designs with various frosting types or color options.

Color Litho (Paint)

Our litho options extend beyond traditional black, white, and frosted. Upon request, we can supply various color options for your customers.

Vase Engraving

We don’t just engrave bases, dies, and markers. If there is any particular design your family wants engraved on a vase, we can make it happen! The most common vase engravings are initials and flowers. Additionally, we can laser etch vases for more intricate detail.

On-Site Engraving

We first visit the cemetery and match existing engravings. From there, we create a stencil for the new names, dates, or other emblems that need to be added to the existing stone. We take pride in our ability to create perfect copies of existing engraving styles.

Once we apply the stencil our craftsmen will use a portable sandblast device to engrave the memorial on-site. If the stone is completely blank, we measure the memorial to get its exact dimensions before designing a layout. After a layout is designed and approved, we engrave the stone without needing to remove it from the cemetery!

Chip Repair

Granite is not an invincible stone. We understand that sometimes inclement weather or other various accidents can happen leading to a memorial chipping. Our team is experienced in dealing with all memorial repairs and will work hard to fix the memorial’s damage.

Sculpture and Statue Repair Before and After

Sculpture and Statue Repair

It is not uncommon for a memorial’s sculpture or statue to break. If the sculpture pieces are still salvageable, we will professionally repair the damage. If not, we can polish or remove the remaining pieces to make the memorial look damage-free. Additionally, there is the option of installing new sculptures by recessing and installing it on the memorial.

Professional Cleaning

We have scrubbed many gravestones over the years with unwanted build-up. We use special professional-grade chemicals and a little elbow grease to remove what is commonly mineral accumulation from water systems, rainwater, air pollutants, or simply dirt. Our team can clean memorials in bulk to help with cemetery-wide restoration.

Bronze Refinishing

Bronze has been known to turn green (oxidation) or lose its vibrancy. Our company is equipped to handle bronze in need of touching up. If you have photos of the state of your bronze plaque, please send that to us! We will be happy to provide a quote on our refinishing services.

Custom Cut Before and After

Memorial Foundations

Getting a foundation is especially important for large monuments and memorials. Even for smaller memorials, it is recommended to to get a foundation to prevent the memorial from sinking or leaning in the future. If an existing memorial is beginning to sink or lean, we offer the ability to reinstall the memorial on a foundation. A foundation will need to sit for about two weeks to dry before it will be ready for memorial setting.

Memorial Leveling Before and After

Memorial Leveling

Is a memorial sinking or tilting? Our crew are experts in leveling by using special technique to laser-line memorials. If you have multiple gravestones next to each other that are sinking, we can relevel each of the stones to a matching height.

Dowel Pins

Texas Gravestone Care wants to ensure safety for families visiting a gravesite. Because of this, we install all of our monuments with dowel pins to prevent the stone from falling off of the base. We spend a lot of time in the cemetery and notice how often families and young children play or rest near memorials. Accidents can happen, but we want to make sure we prevent them with quality installation technique that utilizes industrial dowel pins.

Memorial Reinstallation Before and After

Memorial Reinstallation

Gravestones, especially older memorials, can separate from the base and fall over. This is usually due to the sealant wearing out under various weather conditions. Our team will not only try to repair any damage to the memorial, but will reinstall it with reinforcement to make sure it stands as long as possible.

Columbarium Supply and Services

In 2021, 56% of Americans opted for cremation. Considering approximately 3.5 million Americans passed away in 2021, that means 1.96 million would have been cremated. This number is only expected to grow exponentially with each passing year. As a result of this growing demand for storing ashes in cremation memorials, many churches, cemeteries, or other organizations have opted to install columbaria. This is an especially wise choice for cemeteries and churches that are struggling to utilize their left-over space. In the same area used for one or two plots, a columbarium with enough niches to hold multiple families can be erected.

We are experienced in columbaria selection, installation, and landscaping services. Texas Gravestone Care will assess the property and assist in planning the entire layout. We select the best granite and provide installation and post-installation services such as sandblast or laser engraving for niche panels. If interested in learning more about the benefits of columbaria, please call the office and speak to a sales representative for information and quoting.
